Sound is portable. The human voice has travelled everywhere the human species has.
Music is portable. We have sent Glenn Gould’s interpretation of Johan Sebastian Bach past our solar system.
Hearing happens in a place.
We can only hear in the place that we are present in. Where we listen to sound matters.
Ruminating on place and sound has led to Sara Wray Enns’ artistic practice of maps, scores, installations and performances.
You can find selections of the work stemming from this practice throughout the pages of this website.
